Salsa Recipe - Restaurant Style

Servings: 8

Equipment

  • Food Processor

Ingredients

  • 1 can 28oz whole tomatoes with juice
  • 1 can 15oz diced fire-roasted tomatoes with juice
  • 1 can 4oz chopped green chilies
  • 1 white onion
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • ½ jalapeno (seeded)
  • 1 cup fresh cilantro leaves and steams
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • ½ tsp cayenne
  • ½ tsp sugar

Instructions

  • Add everything to your food processor and pulse to combine. Stop when you get the consistency you want.
  • Taste and adjust seasonings as needed!

Notes

Before serving, give your salsa a final taste. Adjust the seasoning to your liking—more lime for a zing, a pinch more salt, or an extra dash of cumin for depth.
I trim the onion and cut it into two. I let the food processor do the rest. To get larger chunks of onion, save half and add towards the end.
I love garlic! If you are not a huge garlic fan, cut the garlic down to 3 cloves. If you are like me, add another clove.
Use an entire jalapeno for extra heat. I let the food processor do the copping.
